Our Phlebotomy Technician program focuses on imparting safe and efficient work practices, ensuring students can obtain accurate and adequate blood specimens. The curriculum includes comprehensive instruction on labeling and transporting specimens correctly to various laboratory sections. Students are also educated on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B, and other diseases, enhancing their knowledge of crucial health and safety protocols. Upon completion, students obtain a certification of completion.
Program Prerequisites:
- Have at least 3 CSEC Subjects, including Math & English
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be proficient in English (written and oral)
- Must use legal name as it appears on government issued ID when registering
- Must have current BLS certification within two weeks of the course start date
